AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE

Medication Compliance

The medicines that keep your stent, device, and arteries working.

Blood thinners & antiplatelets

  • Never stop them on your own. Stopping early — especially after a stent — is the single biggest risk for a clot. Call us first, always.

  • Missed a dose? Take it when you remember, unless it is nearly time for the next one — then skip it. Never double up. If you miss more than one, call us.

  • Before any dental work, colonoscopy, or other procedure, call us before holding any blood thinner — we will coordinate the safest plan.

  • For pain, acetaminophen (Tylenol) is usually preferred. Avoid ibuprofen, naproxen, and extra aspirin unless we approve them, since they can raise bleeding risk.
