What to expect
Using a catheter and contrast dye, we obtain detailed images to measure the degree of narrowing and assess blood flow to the brain. Evaluation often begins with our in-house carotid ultrasound, so it's coordinated start to finish. Scheduled as outpatient, with most patients home the same day.
If treatment is needed
Our role here is precise diagnosis. If imaging shows a narrowing that needs treatment, we coordinate directly with the right specialist — carotid stenting or surgical endarterectomy is provided by a vascular or endovascular specialist — and we stay involved in the plan. Carotid Artery Disease →
