TREATMENTS WE PERFORM

Congestive Heart Failure — Management & Device Therapy

When the heart can’t pump efficiently, the right combination of medication, monitoring, and — for some — device therapy can ease symptoms, reduce hospital visits, and protect quality of life. We manage heart failure day to day and coordinate any advanced care you may need.

How we manage heart failure

Heart-failure care is ongoing rather than a single procedure. We optimize your medications, watch for fluid buildup, address underlying causes — such as coronary artery disease — and adjust the plan as your situation changes. See the Congestive Heart Failure overview.

Medication & monitoring

Guideline-based medicines are the foundation of heart-failure care, paired with monitoring so problems are caught early. We coordinate with your primary care physician and, when needed, other specialists. Medical therapy →

Devices & monitoring we implant

For certain types of heart failure where the heart’s chambers beat out of sync, a biventricular CRT device helps the heart pump more efficiently; some patients also need a defibrillator for protection. Pacemakers, defibrillators & CRT →

We also place a small implantable pulmonary-artery pressure sensor (CardioMEMS) that lets us read the pressures inside your heart’s circulation from home. Catching a rise early — before you feel it — lets us adjust medicines and head off hospital stays. These are outpatient implants, performed at the hospital outpatient department.

We stay involved for care we don’t provide ourselves

For treatments delivered outside our practice — catheter ablation, left atrial appendage closure, valve repair or replacement (surgical or transcatheter, such as MitraClip), and advanced therapies such as an LVAD or transplant — we help select the right specialist, align your medications around the procedure, and manage your follow-up. We direct the plan; we don’t hand it off.
