TREATMENTS WE PERFORM

Renal Artery Treatment (Angioplasty & Stenting)

When an artery to the kidney narrows — from plaque or fibromuscular dysplasia — it can drive hard-to-control blood pressure and threaten kidney function. Reopening it can help on both fronts.

When it's considered

  • Blood pressure that stays high despite multiple medications

  • Worsening kidney function with a known or suspected narrowing

  • Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD); episodes of flash pulmonary edema

  • Not everyone with a narrowing needs a procedure — we treat when it's likely to help. Renal Artery Stenosis / FMD →

What to expect

Through a small puncture, we image the renal arteries and, when appropriate, reopen the narrowing with angioplasty and, if needed, a stent — in our office-based lab for appropriately selected patients. Minimally invasive and home the same day.

When blood pressure won't budge, the cause may be your kidney arteries.
